Employee & Management Programs

The Canadian Retail Building Supply Council, made up of the BSIA, WRLA, LBMAO, ABSDA and ADMACQ, has re-developed the Manual Estimating Training Program. This program is presented from th perspective of both the do-it-yoursel retailer and the pro-dealer and consists of traditional manual estimating practices. This up-to-date course was developed to reflect current trends and to ensure superior customer service.


The Building Supply Industry Association of B.C. offers master certificate correspondence programs for employees and management which allow companies to achieve the challenge and reach for the top. 

The Employee Master Certificate Program
Completion of the following programs is achieved with a minimum of 70%.

  1. Mastering Lumber & Wood Products $65.00
  2. Mastering Cement and Drywall $45.00
  3. Mastering Flooring $45.00
  4. Mastering Electrical $65.00
  5. The Extra Step Customer Service Program $100.00
  6. Power Bottom Line Selling $65.00
  7. Handling Complaints $45.00
  8. Shoplifting $45.00
  9. Cashier Training $45.00

 

The Management Master Certificate Program
Completion of the following programs is achieved with a minimum of 70%

  1. Team Building $65.00
  2. Supervisor's Training $110.00
  3. Internal Theft $45.00
  4. Teamwork Handbook (policies and procedures) $65.00
  5. Shipping and Receiving $110.00
  6. Purchasing and Inventory Management $110.00

Notes:
Upon completion of the courses, please mail the Test Papers Section with your name, company name and address to the BSIA office for marking. The purchase of a course includes the marking of one test by the BSIA office. Additional tests may either be copied for the participant, by the store, or requested from the BSIA office. All additional tests will be marked for a $20.00 fee. The marks will be returned from the participant and their manager, but all tests will be kept in the BSIA office and recorded. A certificate will be mailed upon completion of an entire program.
